Output Factory Server for InDesign User Guide

Workflow Settings > Hot Folder

 

HOT FOLDER

Choose
Choose the workflow's hot folder. You can select an existing folder or create a new one from the navigation dialog. It's recommended to name the hot folder after its workflow for easy identification in the Finder.

The following folders will be created automatically inside the hot folder:
   Done (for successfully processed InDesign jobs)
   Errors (for jobs that were skipped with errors)
   Out (the default folder for exported output files such as PDF, EPS etc.)

Original Files (Only created in LinkOptimizer hot folders. Original InDesign files will be always backed up in this folder before processing by LinkOptimizer.)

Once you choose the folder, its interactive path appears below. Click individual path components to open them in the Finder.

 

OUTPUT FOLDER

Choose (optional)
Choose the folder for final output files, if desired. If you don't specify any folder, the Out folder in workflow's hot folder will be used.

LinkOptimizer workflows
For LinkOptimizer workflows, you specify the output locations in LinkOptimizer itself. Please see the LinkOptimizer user interfcae for specific info on each option.

Reset
Use this button if you selected a custom output folder and want to reset it to the default Out folder in workflow's hot folder.

 

AFTER PROCESSING

Move to Done/Errors folder
This option defines which of the original files to store after processing if you submit InDesign files in a job folder with related files such as fonts and links. You can choose to store InDesign files only or the entire job folders.
Delete all files
All original files will be deleted after processing, whether you submit a single InDesign file or a job folder.
